Creative development

The last 3months have come and gone rather quickly and proved to be very fruitful. Euan and I have worked our way through a range of crazy briefs, but alas our partnership has ended, for now at least.

Euan is heading off to pastures new and no doubt I’ll be reading about his exploits soon enough.

Meanwhile I have been given the opportunity to stay on fulltime with Family and work in conjunction with the existing creatives. I will be working along side the resident bad joke tellers CD’s David and Kevin, the fabulous designer Michael, Mark the accident-prone designer/creative and Achilles the quietest dog in the world. I very excited about this opportunity to work within a more fluid environment. I’ll be changing partners to suit briefs, exploring ideas on my own and working hard to develop my own skills as well the agencies client list.

Jen and Euan

Some exciting news from my adventures in ADland.

I have been given a 3month freelance contract with my new writer Euan. We have been trying to build a book together around our current freelance work but it has been very difficult. But this offer has been made on the strength of our individual books. It will allow us to test our partnership within a real agency and sets us a realistic deadline to build a good book together. It's with the agency Family, in Leith Edinburgh. They have stuck their neck out with this offer and we plan to work very hard for them and push ourselves. So it's heads down and back into the frying pan from Monday.

I plan to run a blog of the next 90days. I think it will be interesting to document the birth of a team. I will post a link as soon as I decide on a name.

Family friends

My recent adventures in Adland have landed me back amongst familiar faces but in different spaces. Family Advertising, the agency I was first employed with, have given me desk space within their new plush offices in Leith. Therefore giving me a base to work from, other creatives to converse with and an endless supply of coffee.
I think this proves that the creative industry in Edinburgh is a community and bonds are created that those who work in suits in high offices will never understand.

Prostate Scotland Viral and movie

Today sees the launch of the Prostate Scotland charity website, something I helped create within my last position at the Union agency. Along with my creative partner we wrote and shot the viral and the longer information movie with sporting celebrities Craig Levin, Chris Paterson and Grant Stott.

Welcome

Hello, and welcome to my folio. I have posted a range of work that I have produced over the last few years within advertising agencies in Scotland. Please have a look, leave a comment, advice or anything you would like to say that you think I would like to hear.

At this time I am currently looking for a new creative opportunity and welcome enquires.
